Information visualisation – structures, tools, interpretations
11 June 2026 – 12 June 2026

The Institute of Information Sciences at the University of the National Education Commission invites you to take part in the 5th edition of the conference ‘Information Architecture as an Academic Discipline’ – ‘Information Visualisation – Structures, Tools, Interpretations’.

Nature of the event
The initiative is a nationwide academic and industry event with a hybrid format – in-person sessions in Kraków are combined with a live stream and the option to participate online. It serves as a platform for dialogue, integrating academic theory with the demands of the commercial market. The event is organised by the Institute of Information Sciences at the University of the National Education Commission in Kraków.

Objectives
The main objective of this edition is to exchange experiences and present the latest research on issues related to the transmission and reception of data in graphical forms. The organisers aim to investigate how modern technologies (including automation and generative systems) and human cognitive factors influence the design of information spaces, their comprehensibility and functionality. In addition to traditional presentations, an important part of the objectives is the promotion of alternative forms of knowledge presentation, such as posters and infographics.

Who is it for?

We invite:

  • representatives of academic institutes and centres offering degree programmes, specialisations and courses in the fields of information architecture, usability, visual communication and information design, including user experience (UX) design,

  • representatives of companies designing websites and information systems in the field of UX/HCI, staff at interactive agencies and start-up founders,
  • undergraduates and PhD students in fields related to the conference’s themes,
  • as well as anyone interested in the theory and practice of information visualisation.
