Co-organizer

Józef Tischner European University (WSE) in Kraków

The Rev. Józef Tischner European University (WSE) in Kraków, following years of independent and dynamic operation within the Małopolska education sector, officially ceased to exist as a separate entity on 1 October 2024 and was fully integrated into the structures of SWPS University. This strategic merger has combined the tradition of the Kraków-based institution with the formidable academic and research resources of one of Poland’s leading private universities.

Currently, the former WSE operates as a branch of SWPS University in Kraków, which has retained the name of Father Józef Tischner in its official title to commemorate its heritage. Education is delivered through two faculties: the Faculty of Psychology and the Interdisciplinary Faculty. The latter directly continues and develops the WSE’s existing, innovative programme offering, providing courses in the fields of management, digital arts and game design.

The merged university is now based in the historic building of the former Silesian Seminary at 3 Aleja Adama Mickiewicza in Kraków. Thanks to the integration of the two institutions, students of the former WSE have gained the status of SWPS University students, gaining access to modern educational tools and graduating with a degree from this prestigious university.
