Information logistics is an important component of information architecture. Its essence lies in the purposeful and user-oriented management of information flow within information systems in the broadest sense, encompassing the organisation, distribution, accessibility and presentation of content. The aim of this presentation is to demonstrate information logistics as an operational dimension of information architecture and to highlight its significance for the design of visual information structures and user interfaces. Consequently, the role of information visualisation as a tool supporting user orientation, reducing cognitive load and enabling the effective use of information resources will be presented. The presentation will demonstrate the logistical functions of information visualisation, its typologies and basic design principles. These considerations will be framed within a user-centred and cognitive perspective. The analysis conducted leads to the conclusion that information logistics integrates the structural, semantic and perceptual aspects of information architecture, making it not only a system for organising content, but also, thanks to appropriate content visualisation, a tool for optimising the information experience in visual communication.
