Workshop

The aim of the workshop is for participants to acquire skills relating to the creation of information architecture using visual communication. The workshop is aimed at people who have no prior experience of graphic design software.

The work will be based on Google Slides; due to the need to generate charts, it will also make use of Google Sheets. Alternatively, each participant may use another presentation and charting tool of their choice.

As part of the workshop, each participant will prepare a presentation using the information provided, which will include icons, maps and charts.

The workshop will take place in two 90-minute sessions. Maximum number of participants: 25.

An expert in the Advertising Graphics and Multimedia programme at the Rev. Józef Tischner European University. She has been working in digital graphics since 1998. She was head of the computer labs at the Aksjomat publishing house (1999–2000) and at the Longin Studio advertising agency (2000–2005), and creative director at MMDS Print Management (2005–2007). Her work focuses primarily on creating visual identities, wayfinding systems, packaging and advertising materials. She has worked for, amongst others, the following companies and institutions: the British Council, Cramo, the British Embassy, BP, the OFAFA festival, PWN, PZU, Słoń Torbalski, RR Donnelley, Bank Spółdzielczy, Farma Projekt, the University of Economics in Kraków, Anticor, Capgemini, Orion, Variant, Valvex, Lafarge, Barlinek, Tactica Pharmaceuticals, AGH Publishing House, and the Collegium Medicum of the Jagiellonian University. Since 2011, she has been working as a freelance designer and teaching graphic design. As part of her PhD, which she completed at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, she produced a series of publications entitled *The Designer and the User*; a section of this series, entitled *Contexts*, is due to be published by Copernicus in December 2021.
