The Information Architecture degree programme equips graduates with the knowledge and skills required for designing information organisation and management systems, preparing them to work on the design of information spaces and the publication of content for both traditional and digital media. An analysis of the study programmes, study plans and syllabuses for the Information Architecture degree leads to the conclusion that thoroughly preparing students to work with the WordPress platform can be an excellent, pedagogically effective way of familiarising students with the key issues addressed by information science, including information architecture. This paper presents opportunities for practically introducing students to key issues within the discipline, using examples of solutions implemented on the WordPress platform.
