The subject of the presentation will be a study of the issues concerning the visual competences of young people (19-24 years old) as well as – based on individual teaching experiences – the analysis of methods of acquisition, use and interpretation of visual materials by the students of IA (Information Architecture). The focus will also be on an important concept connected with the visual competences, which is the visual literacy. It assumes that the visual message is a statement that can be read and interpreted, and those skills can be learned. The need of teaching those skills seems to be such aspect of forming the competences of the Information Architect, which would allow him or her to shape products and services in a conscious and responsible manner
Przedmiotem wystąpienia będzie badanie zagadnień związanych z kompetencjami wizualnymi młodych ludzi (wiek od 19 do 24 lat), a także – oparta na własnych doświadczeniach dydaktycznych analiza sposobu pozyskiwania, wykorzystywania i interpretacji materiałów wizualnych przez studentów AI. Przybliżone zostanie istotne pojęcie łączone z kompetencjami wizualnymi, którym jest visual literacy (alfabetyzm wizualny). Zakłada ono, że przekaz wizualny jest komunikatem, który można odczytać i zinterpretować, a umiejętności takich można się nauczyć. Potrzeba nauczania takich sprawności wydaje się być tym aspektem formowania kompetencji Architekta Informacji, która pozwoli mu w sposób świadomy i odpowiedzialny kreować produkty i usługi.
